WINTER
Imagine your own home five miles within the Sawtooth
National Forest, one of the largest nature preserves
in the United States.
Imagine a 1500 square foot Bavarian-style chalet, complete
with three fire places (including two located outdoors),
heated floors, satellite TV, and antique Bavarian furniture. |
|
| You'll
be able to call the Warm Springs River as your own while
it flows in front of the property under a covered wooded
bridge 50 feet from the front door. |

Welcome
to Lisa and Michael Stoneback's Croney Cove, located
on 7 unique acres surrounded by meadows and mountains. It's
not uncommon to see elk grazing here.
The two-story house can accommodate four people. There is
a queen size bed-sitting room suite on the upper level and
a kitchen-dining-sleeping area below. Each has its own full-size
bathroom.
This is your own home in the wilderness. However, it's located
only a few miles from the old mining town of Ketchum with
its authentic old buildings, and Sun Valley, one of the most
sophisticated ski resorts in all of North America.
This is a true paradise. Croney Cove offers the benefits of
a nature setting -- removed from from the bustle of everyday
life yet close enough to some of the finest stores and restaurants
in the West.
The Sun Valley ski area is only 8 miles away with its endless
runs on famous Bald Mountain (a bit under 10,000 feet). You
can snowshoe, skate-ski, and back-country tour right from
the front door. On those full-moon nights, Michael will be
delighted to take you on a snowshoe or ski tour.
After a "difficult" day of recreation, you can relax in your
own spa--2 geothermal tubs fed by natural thermal springs
bubbling out from under the mountains. Or, we'll be happy
to arrange for an in-house massage, body wrap, facial, or
the perfect meal for that special evening.
If you don't want to ski or skate, you can fly-fish from the
front yard.
It simply doesn't get any better than this.
Summer
Not interested in winter sports? The summer's don't get any
better at Croney Cove. Imagine rich blue skies, warm yet comfortable
days, and cool, dry nights--an ideal vacation climate. Imagine
flyfishing and grilling the rainbow trout in your own outdoor
fire place.
Sun Valley in the summer is everything it is in the winter--only
more so: mountain-biking, full-moon hikes, rafting on the
Salmon River, mountain tours on horseback, hikes into the
mountains with a llama by your side (he does all of the hauling).
The number of hikes in the area are countless; they range
from leisurely walks to tough ascents of 10,000 foot mountain
peaks.
Of course, there is golf and tennis in nearby Ketchum as well
as the world-famous Sun Valley ice shows with their Olympic
performers. Go skeet shooting and boating--or spend a few
nights camping in the wilderness under the guidance of experienced
Alpine experts.
Autumn
There
is only one thing more beautiful than Sun Valley in the summer:
Sun Valley in the fall, with its balmy days and glorious colors.
The summer crowds will have receded by September and the skiing
fanatics won't arrive until Thanksgiving. This is the time
when you will hike through the mountains with hardly any "competition"
(not that there really is any to begin with)--just you and
your family and the majestic scenery of the Sawtooth Mountains.
